You are not absolutely required to take them, but if you struggle writing, you will strugle in college. You will have to take a basic math and English class in college as part of general education. Do not go to UoP or DeVry. Perhaps look online classes through your state school. One example is Mizzou (University of Missouri -- Columbia). You will have to enroll as a non-degree seeking student until you get 60 hours at which point you can go into the bachelor of general studies program where you can shape your studies into whatever you want.
Reply:It depends heavily on your state required classes to graduate....of course, English is required for college admissions. As far as your math, you may want to check with your guidance counselor to get 100% clarification, you may get more accurate results than us on Yahoo Answers. The best online college totally depends on accreditation and the program you want. UofP may be good to others or Co. Tech, so it varies with each individual. Just like brick and mortar schools....Notre Dame may be good to one person, but another person may consider Ole Miss to be the best. The research comes from you. Read reviews and research on programs....
Reply:All students are required, by law, to take general education, which may or may not include calculus but it will involve some sort of Math, English, Social Stuides and Science(plus lab). The amount needed depends on school and state.
Reply:You need to see the requirements which the college you want to appy to needs. Almost all colleges require you to have taken 3 years up to algebra two in high school, as well as four years of english. If you are looking to apply to online college, they almost always only care if you have graduated high school or have a GED
