Anyone agree: College = Learning to work for someone else?

I'm 25, and I own my own business. I make more than most of the people who were in college with me when I dropped out.

The first year of college, I realized college prepared you to become an employee. Because of peer pressure, I didn't quit college until my junior year, but I should've it done it sooner.

2 years after, eveyrone graduated, and I was still working 3 jobs trying to get money to start off my business, and people looked down on me.

Today after 3 years of having started my business, I'm doing great.

Sometimes it's hard to relate with my old college friends. They complain about their boss, but I don't have a boss to complain about. They talk about making merits to maybe get a promotion, I just work harder to get a better profit. They seek their boss' approval, my employees want to get my approval. They get happy they finally got an office, I set an office for myself long ago.

College sucks, doesn't it??

Anyone agree: College = Learning to work for someone else?
I will state that I don't think college/university is for everyone. I believe far too many go to these institiutions for the same reason you cited: peer pressure.

I think it is based on the student and what they get out of their education. I have found that especially in the last two years of my degree the emphasis has been on developing problem solving and critical thinking skills which means that now I have the confidence to become my own boss.
Reply:College is cool. The people behaviors and visions make it sucks. I am a self employee, finishing many colleges just for fun!.

So, you are the kind of bussinesman, enjoy it while your friends are the kind of staffs. So, be neutral about what the sucks they do in life if you want to get connected to them. But if i were you, i will make new friendships with many other bussinesmen. Thats the way it is.

Its about character. Working as a staff, kill me. I cant and will not. But will they can be bos, if they have had chance? yes or no. Everyone can actualy, but be staff is not on my list, nor you. Be grateful for thelucky you have, be sensible for the pity your friends have.
Reply:I sounds to me like you weren't suited to College and luckly you left and found wot you were suited for.

I don't agree that College is where we learn skills to prepare us for employment, rather it is where we are offered the chance to expand our knowledge and encourage a passion for learning.

In all reality, in a few more years, the friends that you don't relate to, may be running their own businesses. And with the contacts, and understanding they gathered at College, could be earning truck loads than you! Ha ha ha.

And thats from someone who has a Masters and also is working!
Reply:i dont your coleg is suck no i think that your friend is cous you are wrke hard jst to be better and after all that your frinds tray to distroying your life so be the best man and dont ever make this people to distroy our life
