College Life?

I am going back to college soon as a second semester freshman....i hate the college i go to and it was the only one i visited ...and only the 2nd i applied to...last semester was horrible...i had fantastic grades but i hated every minute of it...i hate the town its in..i hated my roomate( he stole from me...drug user endless probs) and all every1 did was go out and party...im not into partying i just want to go to school get good grades and b done with it.....im not much of a social person but all everyone did was go to bars...or go to a party...ive had alot of problems in the past and now my gf is going to college out of state..( i was lead to think she was going to the same college as I) so thus she will dump me...im miserable..id rather cut of my D*ck that go back to this college...it was like prison i hated every moment of it...can any one please give me good advice about trying to handle this situation..and making the best of things?these are supposed to b the best years, yea rite

Check out some other schools and transfer. One of the major weekly news magazines offers information on the "party level" of a given college, pick one that is low.


You don't say why you picked this particular school, but if you aren't happy with it, find one you will be happy with.


I know financial aid can be a consideration, but consider taking the fall off to find a school you will like. Visit the campus, spend time in the dorms and getting to know students.


A bad roommate can make things really rough. Find someone to room with who shares your goals. Most schools have a program to request a particular roommate. Some schools have programs for single rooms (at an added cost). Living off campus is often an option.


Most schools have rules against illegal drugs on campus. Even if they don't, the local community does.
Reply:College is an extention of right of passing from child to adult. How are you going to keep the kid on the farm? H.S. is likewise but kids need more time growing up.
