Question about College?

If I were to have low grades in high school (not LOW but not high enough to get into a four year college) and apply to go to a technical college for two years and then transfer to a four year college, would that two years go toward the four years or would I have to do four years at the four year college(along with the two at the technical college) for a total of six years in college to graduate?

Question about College?
It depends on the classes that you took and the credits that will transfer to the university you're going.
Reply:This is not a one sentence answer...

I do not know about your background but I'll give you my best answer:

This transfer would be interesting. If you decide to go to a "technical" college in say, auto mechanics and then went to a four year school for biology your credits would NOT transfer.

However, if you went to a local community college and you studied business for two years and then transferred to a four year college and majored in business then you may be able to get most, if not all of your credits to transfer. The answer really depends on what you study at both schools and how the four year school you attend accepts transfer credits. If you already know what four year school you want to go to I would talk to an admission counselor there and ask them for help to see what credits would/would not transfer.

Hope this helped- if you have any more please ask!
Reply:ask to speak to a student advisor. sometimes called counselor at the school. inform them of your plans to go on to a 4 year college and they should guide you in classes that get transferred. i went to a community college for 2 years then transferred to a private 4 year college. it took me a total of 5 years but i did take a lot of electives. i remember clearly that billiards and golf credits were transferred. ha ha that was a nice surprise. the goal is to take all the basic classes reading, writting and math so when you go to the 4 year college and pay much more money, you will take more advanced courses from assumingly more highly degreed professors. my grades in high school wee blah also. PS. i took algebra 3 times before i passed. don't give up. now i have a ba in psych, an ma in clinical counseling and i'm planning to go back to school for my psy .d. and remember: the professors work for you. your paying them to work for you so don't be afraid to ask questions and ask for help. and always be respectful with good eye contact through out the lectures and they will not forget you. sorry for digressing ;)
