College, what a joke right?

i am very bitter about going to college. why? well, all my life all the teachers lied to us. they said that if you go to college and get good grades you will be anything you want in life. what a crock! maybe in 1965 that was the case when they were growing up. but now, every tom, dick, and harry has a bachelor's degree. so a bachelor's degree now a days is completely useless. let me ask you this question. why not forget about college altogether and become a bartender? i hear they can rake in over 1,000 bucks a week. that sure is a lot more money than i ever made at my so called "college jobs." if i could do it all over again and be 18 again......i would no bother with college. i would have done bartending. and by now at age 32 i would have my own house and my own life instead of nothing.

College, what a joke right?
College is what you make of it. Sounds as if you went there to get the "paper" only and didn't really learn anything. Go for the bar tending job!
Reply:u can still be a profesional bartender what does age have to do with it plus its never to late to start doing the things that u truly enjoy u want to be a bartender give a try ur never to old to learn something new and if u like something u have interest in then hey go for it. You should be doing the things that make u happy anyway and ur never to old to pick up a new skill and by the way 32 years old hmm its not old at all no way its how u feel inside trust me im in my 30s
Reply:well its too early to say you are with nothing (and i am sure thats not true) there is still time to do what you want do if you want to be a bartender go ahed be one, just do what makes you happy there is still time to try out new things. the key is be postive no matter how many times you fail never give up, thats my motto
Reply:You can still be a bartender. 32 is not too old to do anything! I know tons of people at my university who are in their 40s and just decided to get their degree, so it goes to show you that it's never too late to do anything in life. It's true that a lot of people don't end up doing what they want with their degree. It's just a matter of luck or networking to get a job that's relevant to their field of study.
