Public college or private college?

I got accepted both from a state university and a private college. state university is paying me for full scholarship, which includes everything, and they even pay me 2K every year for my expense. The state college is within the top 50 public college list. The private college gave me grant/scholarship but my parent still need to pay for 11K each year. it is within top 25 private college list. So which one I should go? What is your idea?

Well state college will pay for everything! Private school is better because classes are small and you learn faster than you would in state university. I would say go to the private school unless your really tight on money (11K) otherwise going to the state university is the best resource for your education since everything is paid for but classes will be bigger! just study hard there.
Reply:I would go with State! That seems like it would give you the most opportunity to get your education, with much less the financial strain that many, many students and families encounter. However, discuss it with your parents, especially if they're footing the bill. 11k is a nice "chunk of change", and the decision needs to considered carefully.


If you start at state, and decide you really would prefer the private college, see about maybe transferring in a couple years.
