I went to a 4yr college and got suspended from the school with a GPA of 0.4 with about 45credits D-/F, and about 9 credits with Cs and thats it.
I changed my life around and about a term later, I have decided to restart college by going to a community college. I have told the college that I have a 0.4 GPA from the other college, and they told me to just transfer those 9 credits.
Well I didn't transfer credits yet, because I have been looking around 4yr universities for after my A.S degree, and all of them are telling me that they will look at my 0.4 GPA and factor that into the min. GPA req, even with a medically documented excuse.
How would I wipe the slate clean with my record, I don't mind showing other colleges my 0.4 GPA as long as its not factored into the GPA requirements. I don't want to work my *** off and get an amazing GPA, and then be thrown down 1-2 entire points, and then not get into the school I want. Also loosing 9 credits is not prob, if it means a clean slate.
Starting college over again with a clean slate. Low GPA hurting me, need advice.?
0.4 gpa!!!! holy sh*t, that must take talent to get. sorry but im not sure if you can get a clean slate. i'd try to go to any school taht would accept me
Reply:Sorry but you can't wipe the slate clean..all of this bad grade thing is on your record for good...so your best bet is to go to a community college, take a few of your courses there and then, try again at a university....Universities aren't playing around anymore with letting just any joe schmoe in...it is getting harder and harder to be accepted into a 4 yr program at a university..especially with those god awful grades of yours...
Just go where they will take you and make that awful transcript of yours look better with better grades from a community college, that is about all that you can do for now...hey, it's better than nothing...and remember, there are those people out there that will take school a lot more serious than you did....and the universities will save the seats in the classroom for those people....so keep on the straight and narrow..and go to a community college, and bring that GPA up...and take it from there....
Reply:The only way to ditch the low GPA is ...not to bother transferring anything and starting from scratch. Stop thinking that the best is always an "A" or "B" student. I'll take someone that has been through the storm and the rain every time. That struggling "C" student, does his homewk, gets his assignments done on time and studies his but off. He works hard. How abt an atta boy for him! There are some "C" professionals out there that are the bomb!
Reply:that would suck. you really should air your concerns to academic services; they know what's best for their students.
i too encountered a few challenges in college and had to leave the ivy league gates after a year and a half. there's absolutely no logic on this one, but i ditched the credit transfer since it felt as though i'd be transferring bad vibes from the past.
anyway congratulations on starting over
keep working your *** off
hope everything goes smoothly for you from here on out
what's life but a learning process eh =)
