Going to one college but not another?

Hello,

I was accepted into two colleges, we'll call them College A and College B. They are big state colleges in my state. I'm going to go to college A, but not to College B. I just recently got accepted. Do I need to inform College B that I won't be attending via mail? Or what is the proper procedure for going to one college and not another? Or is it not even necessary to inform the one you're not going to that you won't be attending? Thank you for your help?

Going to one college but not another?
You do need to let college B know that you won't be attending. Usually, in their admissions packet, they send a form or a card which allows you to indicate your acceptance or decline of their offer. If they did not, then a short note by mail would be fine.

This is not only the polite thing to do, but it also allows them to, if necessary and possible, offer your spot to someone on their waiting list.
Reply:Thanks for the help to both of you...

Reply:It is not necessary, but it is the right thing to do, and it shouldn't take but a minute. As the above poster said, when College B knows you won't be coming, they get a better picture of whether they will be able to let people off the waitlist.
