I am a 17 year old junior in highschool and i am fasinated by planes and what they can do. I love to go fast and fly. So i decided that i would love to be is a AF pilot. Because being a race car driver doesnt seem as exciting. But i am positive i want to be a pilot for the AF. I just dont know the studies i should take in college to maximize this chance of being a pilot in the AF. Since i hear going to college then going to the AF is your best bet since you get a higher rank then from just going in right after highschool.
I am planning on joinging the Airforce to ful-fill my dream of flying planes for the AirForce. But i want to do this after i am done college.. I was wondering what studies in college should i take up to maximize my chance to be a AF pilot. I live in Massachussetts, so can anyone give me some information on what colleges offer these studies and what the studies are.
What college studies should i take in college to support my dream of being an air force pilot?
English is one thing you should study. Then, math, physics, chemistry, biology, history, and engineering. Your best bet, by far, is to get an appointment to the Air Force Academy. Each of your U.S. Senators and Representatives has 5 recommendations to the service academies annually. Here's how Massachusetts Representative Lynch handles his process for nominations: http://www.house.gov/lynch/nominations.s...
If you don't get an appointment to the Air Force Academy, you can find a college that has an Air Force ROTC program: http://www.afrotc.com/ There are 55 program choices in Massachusetts, and you can find them here: http://www.afrotc.com/colleges/detLocato...
