I am applying to 6 colleges and each college asks for different essay topics. For Wagner college, they ask for a 2 - 3 page essay on basically anything. I already wrote a personal essay in my 11th grade advanced english class that is 3 pages long. I was thinking about using this essay (I actually got 100% on it), but I don't know if it is "good enough".
It is about a time when I rode my first huge roller coaster. It shows that I am willing to take on challenges and that I can overcome fears to accomplish goals.
Would this be an ok essay? If you need more information, I am willing to send you the essay in an email.
(Also, I can add another paragraph in the essay about how I would use this new trait to accomplish great things in college.)
College Application Essay?
Personal statements are some of the hardest things to write. The problem with submitting the first one that you wrote is that yours has to stand out above everyone elses. Many people have to draft an application essay 4-5 times with the help of an English professor before finally feeling confidant enough to turn it in. Make sure that the essay you submit leaves the impression that you want it to leave, and that every sentence and paragraph has a reason to be there.
Good luck!
Reply:The topic is alright, a bit childish, but if you use the correct words, good grammar, and stellar transitions it should be alright.
By the way, if you don't want to fill out so many essays, go to commonapp.org.
It's basically one application that you can send out to as many colleges as you want(they have to be partnered with commonapp, there are about 300 colleges) Also, it's just one essay to fill out.
Reply:well the essay is about anything.
I'm sure they actually want you to write something that isnt in your application. SOmething that will describe something about your life and the impacts in your life that has made you the way youare.
but if you don't have anything then i guess going with this essay is alright. its just tooo safe. might as well tell the school what you've been through and how you've matured.
