College question!?
Most colleges allow homeschooled students to apply. Contact the admissions department at the College of the Canyons now, and ask them what they require of homeschooled applicants. Then make sure you do those things during your high school years, so you're ready to apply.
In addition, to my knowledge, College of the Canyons IS a community college. That means they have open admissions. You should not have a problem getting in, so long as you meet their basic requirements. Again, contact them now so you know you're doing the right coursework in high school, so you'll be ready to go there for college.
There should be no reason why you'd need to attend a college near your home first, then transfer. If you want College of the Canyons, apply there directly.
Reply:College is not like high schools, in that you don't have to go to a local one, even if it is a community college. Since you are in California, you can definitely go to College of the Canyons, and would even be paying in-state tuition for it.
Reply:you just have to apply to whatever college you want to. you dont have to start at community college and transfer, its just an option. if you want to go the cheaper route, go to community college and then transfer. but if you just want to go to college in the canyons and nothing more, then apply your senior year.
Reply:you just apply when you're a senior and after you have taken the the SATs.
you don't have to transfer like that.
Reply:Go to the local school first. I went to a big university and hated it. I ended up going to my local school and getting an associates degree. All my credits transferred to another school where I got my Bachelors. I saved a lot of money this way and got a good job after getting my associates so I was building experience while finishing school.
