College consideration?

Im going to major in aerospace engineering and am having trouble deciding which college to go to for this major the colleges i've been accepted too are Embry Riddle aeronautical university, Florida institute of technology, illinois institute of technology, Purdue university, Rochester institute of technology, university of arizona, colorado at boulder, and am on the wait list for rensselaer polytechnic institute, these are the colleges i am able to consider and thats what makes it so hard, i have looked at profiles and stats of each but that still does not give a true definition of how good the college is and how good their academics are, so i am asking people here to give me an op ion of what college would be best so that i might find it easier to decide. thanks very much for all the time and effort.

College consideration?
Embry Riddle has a solid reputation and so does Florida Institute of Technology. I would add one more Florida school to the aerospace engineering list. University of Central Florida. They are a stone's throw from Cape Canaveral and NASA. There are a ton of aerospace firms that have offices right close to campus.

I don't know about the other on your list other than I would avoid Colorado at Boulder. My friend went there and she said the academics were lacking and it was just a huge party school and there was a lot of politics and in-fighting amongst the faculty there.
Reply:If you want aerospace engineering, not just a more general area of engineering, Embry Riddle. A good way to help you decide: find bios of top aerospace engineers, top people at NASA, Boeing, etc. (check websites for major aeronautical companies, especially those where you would want to work). Also check where aeronautical engineering professors did their undergrad %26amp; grad work. Find out where they went, and there's your best answer for YOU.
Reply:RPI is an excellent school. I unfortunately went to Polytechnic University in brooklyn. Stay away from that one, lowest approval on Princeton Review of all engineering schools. I suggest you try for Cooper Union if it's not too late. If you get into RPI go to RPI. Illinois should be your second choice. Purdue has a mixed reputation.

Aerospace is great at Georgia Tech and Virginia tech. Are you a college football fan, you might want to keep that in mind. I'd avoid RIT though, it's okay, but I wouldn't commit t o the place unless you know for sure RPI is out of the question. Best of Luck from a CE
