College funding for someone with a deceased parent?

My father commited suicide on Dec. 25th 2003. I keep being told that my college can be paid for because of this, but I have no idea how. Can someone please help me? I have been on my own since I was sixteen, and college seemed so out of reach until now. I am nineteen years old, and finishing up my high school education through homeschooling. I currently am carrying a 4.0. I already have a prospective college in mind, but I will not be able to go to college without some kind of help.

Does anyone know about this? Like I said, I have had several people tell me that I can have college paid for, but no one knows how.

I've never seen a funding source specifically for this purpose. But you need to apply for federal financial aid at http://fafsa.ed.gov if you are planning on attending college in the fall of 08. Complete the 08-09 application. You will need to enter your and your mothers income information, but she is in no way obligated to pay for your schooling by doing so.

Here is a good publication about financial aid.
Reply:Before this question can be answered, please tell me about your mother.
