just moved to the states not too long ago, and am planning on going to community college very very soon.
though I am clearly completly confused as far as anything goes reguarding college, and have absloutly no one to advice with about. no fam member has ever gone.
Is there any site that explains completely everything about college starting from scratch. not to mention im going to community college since I havent gone to HS here and it kinda of a long story.......
Im looking for a site perhaps that explains all a lost beginner student should know, about grades, tests, transfer, gpa, schools, applications, choices, anything of everything.
hoping to get a clear picture since I am so lost and seems like everyone who grew here knew this was their path and know exactly what's up.
please!!! any help.
thank you.
COLLEGE COLLEGE COLLEGE I know nothing!?
My #1 college prep tool is/was www.collegeboard.com. There, you can research colleges (including community colleges), sign up for SATs, get advice about grades, essays, deadlines, financial aid, grades, majors, what colleges look for, and everything else you could ever want to know. Definitely check it out, it helped me a TON! Good luck :)
Reply:Even people who have been in the US all their lives still aren't ever completely prepared for college!! Community College is a great place for you to start so that you can meet new people!! If you are looking for scholarships you can try www.fastweb.com
You can also look up colleges on there to see what type of college it is. Also, try finding the college you are interested in online. That will list all the requirements you will need to register. Also you can talk to an advisor at your community college who will answer any questions you have. Go to orientation at the Community College to get to know the campus better!! And, just remember, everyone is new to the college thing, its not just you!! Good Luck!!
