I am going to fill out an application for a tech school/college next semester. I am currently going to a community college, but I've been goofing off because its not for me right now, and unfortunately I am getting pretty behind because I have skipped a few classes. It's too late to drop classes. When I fill this application out for the other college, what would be the best thing to do? Should I put the com. college I am going to right now, or should I not put anything down? Can colleges get transcripts from other colleges, even though you didn't list them on the application?
College question?
Hi there. The best thing to do is to inform them about the other college you attended. I have worked in this field and will tell you that if you have attended another college, your college absolutely will find out. If you aren't up front about it, they will find out eventually and then you will likely be kicked out permanently for being dishonest (notice the signature part of the application that claims you are being honest). The best thing to do would be to take those classes (at least some of them) over to replace the bad grades you got. Sorry, but there is no way out here. I used to process college applications for a living, and we keep track of you by your social security number. Good luck!
