Alright so I am a 19 year old guy in college. I would really like to know who the moron was that said college is the best time of your life. I can garuntee you its not and if it is I am in for a shitty life, if this is all I have to look forward to. I remember always hearing this growing up and seeing all the movies about how great college is and all this other crap. I was so excited to go to college, well I am now in college almost done with my first year, ya it sucks nothing great about it. I find it is almost as bad as highschool other then I dont have to wake up early ya. So what I want to know is why is college hyped up so much and where did all this crap come from?????
College is the best time of your life, haha?
Oh, alot of people said childhood is the best time of your life but I have been raped by a drunk, molested by my grandfather, beaten by my dad and big brother and verbally/emotionally abused by my mother before I turned 13. I am in 9th grade, people say that highschool is so wonderful, but the bullying for me has gotten worse, there are big maori/samoan girls that wanna give me a hiding and everybody is just so catty to me. I guess, I thought that highschool was going to be better because of all those movies that are out!
I guess college is better in a way - freedom from parents, allowed to drink etc.
Reply:college days r one of the most remembering days of a persons life becoz, at college person gets all the freedom which he was willing for, right from his high school days
The person gets the license to flirt, license to sit outside the class. etc.
IF ANY ONE DON'T MAKE USE OF SUCH CHANCE THEN IT IS THERE FAULT, BETTER ANYONE DON'T BLAME COLLEGE DAYS AS ****.
Reply:I think college is hyped up because it truly should be a learning, transitioning period from boy-hood to manhood.
This is where you find your ON way in life...whatever the way you choose maybe. If you happen to have fun in the process then that's cool too. BUT it really is what YOU make of it.
Reply:i dont no but im 16 and i expect it to be **** even if I have seen it to be awesome in movies. It must be slightly better than highschool cause you get more freedom in life but I heard you work **** loads in college so im not that excited at all. I bet its easier to get laid so go get some pussy!
Reply:Being out on your own (the exploration). The opportunity for knowledge. Being around people of the same interests. I'm just finishing college and exhausted, but had a pretty cool time. Wouldn't take it back but glad it's over.
Reply:no one said it was gonna be roses and cake man and where did the crap come from check out the newest American pie :d
Reply:Yeah, I agree that college really is not as amazing as it is made out to be, at least for the first few years. It's really lonely, classes are really tough, no home-cooked food... yea, I know where you're coming from.
The reason people say it is so great is because they finally have complete freedom from their parents and are able to drink and party more often without restrictions. (This obviously doesn't benefit those that aren't "partiers", like me). Also, it allows you to meet different people that are academically similar to you in their interests.
It does get better, though, when you get more comfortable, make new friends, and turn 21, so you can go wherever you want to hang out.
Reply:Yea it sucked studying and all, but I would soooo much rather be in school, live close to all of my friends and have my stress crammed into a 2-3 week period of the year! If you hate it so bad now, just wait until you see how 'awesome' real life gets after college...responsibilities aren't optional!
Maybe you should try to get out and experience college a little more! I thought the same thing until I discovered everything I was missing out on toward the end. There is so much available for you to meet people you have things in common with, check out what your campus has to offer.
Reply:take it from a sophomore, man. college is what you make of it. the best thing about college is the freedom to choose things. if its your classes that suck, pick different ones! if it is the social aspect that isn't living up to what you wanted, make some new friends, search for parties, clubs, teams, whatever floats your boat. I had a pretty crappy time freshman year because i locked myself in my dorm all day and expected college life to magically occur. You just have to find your place. and you won't do that by sitting on yahoo answers and complaining all day. So get out there and do something!
